scuba divers are demonstrating underwater rescue skills in the waters of Tenerife

Rescue Diver

This course is for scuba divers who want to acquire the knowledge and skills to prevent and - if necessary - manage dive emergencies. It aims to expand their awareness and improve their abilities, resulting in increased confidence. We believe that all divers should take the Rescue Diver Course, regardless of being recreational divers or planning to continue training to become dive professionals. Not only will it benefit you, but it will also provide a sense of security for your dive buddies.

The PADI Rescue Diver Course is a challenging and fulfilling continuing education program that teaches individuals to recognize and handle dive emergencies, manage accidents, provide emergency oxygen and even fix common equipment issues. All while testing their physical endurance. The course will positively change your diving experience by enabling you to identify and resolve minor problems before they escalate, boost your confidence, and make diving more enjoyable.

During the course, you will learn how to recognize the signs of diver stress and be ready to assist a fellow diver in need, whether at the surface, underwater or on land. It equips you with the tools and techniques to handle emergencies swiftly, correctly and in a coordinated manner.

The coursework may appear daunting at first glance, but once you complete it, you'll become a more confident and self-aware diver. You don't need to work toward a professional certification to sign up for the Rescue Diver Course; many divers complete it to improve their diving skills and safety.

Note that to enrol for a Rescue Diver course, you need an EFR certificate (Primary and Secondary Care). If you haven't had it, you can do an EFR course during Rescue Diver. The cost of the EFR Course is 200 euros.

Why is this course unique ?

Our goal is to equip you with all the necessary skills to be a competent dive partner by the end of the Rescue course. Unlike other dive centres, we prioritise in-depth training over a quick certification; so our students have time to master rescue skills and are prepared to handle real emergencies effectively. We will thoroughly cover and repeatedly practise all exercises and scenarios, both in a controlled roleplay setting and in realistic, "unplanned" situations ensuring comprehensive training.

Furthermore, we provide our students with speciality dive gear inspired by technical diving, which will enhance safety, comfort, and performance. This gear is not typically available to entry-level divers, so it gives our students an edge over others and prepares them for the more advanced levels of scuba diving. Our exclusive training program is helping our students to achieve their full potential as divers and providing them with the foundation for their diving progression in the future.

Why train with us ?

We are highly skilled and experienced professionals with a background in cave and technical diving. We've used our expertise to develop an exceptional course beyond the traditional boundaries of standard training. We prefer an adaptive teaching approach, which prioritises student-centred learning and adjusts instruction to meet each student's unique needs and abilities. With this strategy, we can identify and address any difficulties or areas of confusion you may experience and provide the support and guidance you need to be successful.

We believe that every individual should receive proper attention during their training; therefore, our courses have a low student-teacher ratio of 3:1 maximum, ensuring that you receive personalised instruction throughout the program.

II. In water practice

III. Evaluation

In our last in-water session, you will have the opportunity to show off what you learned by completing rescue scenarios without help from your instructor. This part is eye-opening as in real life, you may find yourself alone in an emergency, with more than one person needing your help. In these cases, you have to evaluate the situation and make quick decisions regarding the best way to help others. Experiencing this situation is very useful as you figure out how you act using the skills you learned during your course. At this point, we are not trying to make you perform a perfect rescue but to assess yo ...
