Scuba Diver

This program is an entry-level scuba diving certification course designed to provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres, under the direct supervision of a certified professional. This course is the perfect choice for those who seek certification as scuba divers but are not yet ready to commit to our comprehensive Open Water Diver Course, or lack the necessary time for its completion, this course offers an ideal solution.

The course consists of four main components:

  1. Knowledge Development (Theory)

  2. Fundamentals (Buoyancy, Divers Weighting, Breathing techniques)

  3. Confined Water Dives (Practical skill training)

  4. Open Water Dives (Application of skills and exploration in the ocean)

By becoming a certified diver through this course, you will gain access to a multitude of captivating underwater destinations, joining a vast community of fellow enthusiasts who share a profound passion for underwater exploration.

Why is this course unique?

Throughout the course - beyond learning the fundamentals and meeting the standard performance requirements - we focus on helping students to master essential areas such as buoyancy control, breathing techniques and proper weighting. This approach lays the groundwork for cultivating the necessary skills and knowledge to evolve into a proficient diver in the future.

We provide our students with speciality dive gear inspired by technical diving, which will enhance safety, comfort, and performance. This gear is not typically available to entry-level divers and it gives our students an edge over others and prepares them for the more advanced levels of diving. Our exclusive training program is helping our students to achieve their best as beginner divers and providing them with a strong foundation.

Why train with us?

We are highly skilled and experienced professionals with a background in cave and technical diving. We prefer an adaptive teaching approach, which prioritises student-centred learning and adjusts instruction to meet each student's unique needs and abilities. With this strategy, we can identify and address any difficulties or areas of confusion you may experience and provide the support and guidance you need to be successful.

We believe that every individual should receive proper attention during their training; therefore, our courses have a low student-teacher ratio of 2:1 maximum, ensuring that you receive personalised instruction throughout the program.

At FlowState Divers, our mission is to provide the highest quality training experience to our students. Recognizing the intricate and demanding nature of acquiring even the fundamental aspects of scuba diving, our training sessions are thoughtfully structured over a minimum duration of 2 days. However, we remain committed to offering our students the flexibility of scheduling additional sessions should they desire further instruction and practice.

II. The Fundamentals

Our Scuba Diver course is unique in its approach compared to traditional scuba dive centres, as we place a strong emphasis on dedicating the first day to essential topics that are frequently disregarded in other programs. We believe that by focusing on these topics, we can ensure that our students have a strong foundation of knowledge and skills that will serve them well as they progress through the rest of the course. We specifically focus on these subjects:

III. Confined Water Dives

Each skill will be taught to you step-by-step by your instructor, and you'll have time to practise these skills until you feel competent. Our goal throughout these dives is to get you comfortable with the essential skills and to prepare you for the open water dives.

IV. Open Water Dives

On the second day of your training you will complete 2 open water dives to a maximum depth of 12 metres.
During these dives, you'll be able to use and improve the skills you learned in confined water sessions. However, diving in deeper water will require you to pay closer attention to your buoyancy control, breathing, and communication with your dive buddy.
By the time you get here, you will have already gained familiarity with the skills acquired during your confined water training. Subsequently, we will dedicate ample time to further practise and refine these skills until you feel confident and p ...
